COMPARTMENT FIRE BEHAVIOUR TRAINING (CFBT)

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed to prepare emergency responders to fully understand and deal with compartment fires.

Based upon over two decades of studying, working with global leaders in Flashover and backdraught training, designing firefighter training equipment proven to save life’s, EPS are very well placed at providing this specialist training.

Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (CFBT) examines fire behaviour in a structural environment. Critical learning outcomes include the ability to recognize fire behaviour indicators, predict fire development, and implement appropriate control measures to improve firefighter safety and fire control effectiveness.

The training delivered by highly experienced and qualified Fire Behaviour Training Instructors (UK, Sweden), focuses on both subject technical understanding as well as the tactics and techniques required to safely control and extinguish both fuel controlled and ventilation controlled fires.

Duration

Standard two day course, however can be customer specific fully dependant upon site operations and specified risks.

Target Group

This course is designed primarily for industrial Emergency Response Teams and local authority Fire & Rescue services.

Who Should Attend

Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (CFBT) is intended for Emergency Response Teams, firefighters and fire officers. While the course provides case studies and hands-on exercises provide an excellent learning opportunity for both recruits and experienced emergency responders, firefighters.

Course Assessments

Students must pass both theoretical and continual practical assessments to complete the course against specific criteria which can incorporate customer / site specific requirements.

Pre Requisites

Nominated course students should:

  • Have completed an occupational medical examination including lung function and physical fitness assessment and deemed medically fit prior to attending the Compartment Fire Behaviour Training course.
  • Attend training clean shaven as facial hair could prevent a good seal between the wearer’s facial contour and the breathing apparatus face mask seal.
  • Be a qualified breathing apparatus wearer.
  • Be proficient in the English language including reading, writing and numeracy.
  • Be physically able to carry out the practical skills required to meet the assessment criteria.

Certification

All Students that complete the course will receive a certificate of Completion.
