FIRE APPLIANCE DRIVER & PUMP OPERATOR TRAINING

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed to allow industrial emergency responders to drive and operate emergency response firefighting vehicles fitted with a pump as per facility requirements.

With extensive hands on experience of working with a range of mobile fire & rescue pumps up to flows of 22,750 lpm, EPS are very well placed at providing this core training for high hazard facility emergency response teams.

Experienced Instructors with many years of hands on experience attend your facility and use your own equipment or (we can supply appliances) to teach your staff. With a blend of theoretical and practical training, the course allows Students to gain the required knowledge, understanding and practical skills to effectively drive and operate a fire appliance pump.

Duration

Standard two day course, however can be customer specific fully dependant upon site equipment used and site operations.

Target Group

This course is designed primarily for industrial Emergency Response Teams that require to operate mobile fire appliances and pumps.

Who Should Attend

Emergency response personnel expected to drive and operate fire appliances fitted with firefighting pumps.

Course Assessments

Students must pass both theoretical and continual practical assessments to complete the course against specific criteria which can incorporate customer / site specific requirements.

TRAINING COMPONENTS & ELEMENTS

Element 1.
Fire appliance driving rules and regulations.
Element 2.
Fire Appliance driver pre use checks.
Element 3.
On site driving, low speed manoeuvring and marshalling.
Element 4.
Fire Appliance pump gauges and controls.
Element 5.
Dangers of pumping water at high pressures.
Element 6.
Engage and operate Fire Appliance pump.
Element 7.
Pumping with pressure fed supply.
Element 8.
Pumping from open water (if required).
Element 9.
Get to work high pressure hose reels, main jets and ground monitors.
Element 10.
Pump relays.
Element 11.
Trouble shoot pump failure.

Pre Requisites

Nominated course students should:

Have completed an occupational medical examination and deemed medically fit prior to attending the training course.

Be a qualified Industrial Fire Team Member.

Be proficient in the English language including reading, writing and numeracy.

Be physically able to carry out the practical skills required to meet the assessment criteria.

Certification

All Students that complete the course will receive a certificate of Completion.
