FIRE WARDEN TRAINING
COURSE OVERVIEW
UK Fire safety legislation including the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 is guidance for those who have a responsibility under the Act for ensuring fire safety within the workplace.
The course is designed for anyone who acts as a fire warden (or fire marshal) at work, providing Fire Wardens with the knowledge and understanding of fire safety that they need to successfully carry out their duties.
All employers have a legal duty to ensure fire safety standards are complied with and emergency arrangements are in place including the effective evacuation of occupants from the workplace in cases of fire.
In order to effectively account for and evacuate occupants, the implementation of fully trained Fire Wardens are an integral part of such emergency arnagements.
Fire safety training is required to be carried out upon employees being allocated the role of Fire Warden with refresher training scheduled in order to maintain competency which should be suitable and appropriate to the employee’s workplace.
The training carried out by competent person(s) with suitable and sufficient knowledge along with practical fire safety experience. By undertaking Fire Warden training employees will be prepared in order to fully undertake the role, duties and responsibilities in the event of fire, ensuring their own safety and the safety of other persons on the premises.
The course, a blend of theoretical and practical workplace fire safety.
Standard four hour course, however can be customer specific fully dependant upon site operations and specified risks.
Target Group
This course is designed for personnel from diverse industry sectors including Commerce, industry, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical oil and gas, tank storage, nuclear, retail and construction.
Who Should Attend
All employees delegated the responsibilities of undertaking the role of Fire Warden within the workplace.
Course Assessments
Student knowledge is assessed by means of question and answer session against specific assessment criteria which can incorporate customer / site specific requirements.
TRAINING COMPONENTS & ELEMENTS
Pre Requisites
Nominated course students should have:
- Completed Fire Awareness training prior to attending the Fire Warden course.
- Be proficient in the English language including reading and writing.
- Posses reasonable English language communication skills.
Certification
All Students that complete the course will receive a certificate of Completion.
