FOAM & FOAM APPLICATION Training

COURSE OVERVIEW

For decades, in comparison to the industrial emergency response services, the use of firefighting foam has not always been the priority or the ‘Bread and Butter’ of service delivery for local authority and municipal Fire & Rescue Services.

As continued emphasis is placed on effective response to high hazard facilities located on the risk registers within municipal and local authority Fire & Rescue Services, there are requirements for focus on the continuous development of personnel who have had very little training or experience in foam operations.

EPS for many years have been educating both industrial and municipal local authority Fire & Rescue services in foam management and foam operations. Our long standing ‘Know Your Foam’ training course allows fundamental technical knowledge and skills to educate Service Officers in foam testing, sampling, use, environmental restrictions, proportioning rates and application techniques to flammable or combustible liquid fires.

This unique and specialist course is designed specifically for both municipal and local authority Fire & Rescue Services whereby Fire Officers who are required to work within the demanding environment of industrial and petrochemical facilities can undertake intervention operations based upon a solid understanding of foam and how to use it effectively.

The training carried out by competent person(s) with suitable and sufficient knowledge along with practical fire ground foam operations experience.

The course, a blend of theoretical and practical use of equipment including foam equipment, will develop the Students understanding of firefighting foams, application methods and techniques, foam testing. Foam concentrate as used in service is used to demonstrate performance characteristics and behaviours during live burns.
