INCIDENT CONTROLLER Training
COURSE OVERVIEW
Taking into account The Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations (COMAH) 2015, the course is designed for personnel who are part of the facility Incident Management Team and for those who undertake the role of Incident Controller, whose responsibilities include the responding to, supervision of, assessment of and management of an onsite incident, the course is based on the principles of the Incident Command System (ICS).
The course provides information, and the various skills necessary to allow Incident Controllers to implement predetermined site emergency plans during the ‘initial’ phase of an incident through to the ‘all clear’ in order to bring the situation to a safe and successful conclusion.
Subjects covered include strategy, tactics, command and control, communications and coordination elements used in the management of major emergencies.
Facility personnel who are undertaking development towards the role of Incident Controller can also attend enhancing emergency management knowledge.
The course delivered with a blend of theoretical and practical exercising is based upon site specific needs and risks incorporating site emergency response plans and procedures.
Standard one day course, however can be customer specific fully dependant upon site operations and specified risks.
Target Group
This course is designed for personnel from diverse industry sectors including industry, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical oil and gas, tank storage, nuclear and construction.
Who Should Attend
Employees either working towards becoming competent as an Incident Controller or those personnel undertaking the role of Incident Controller.
Course Assessments
Student knowledge is assessed by means of question and answer session against specific assessment criteria which can incorporate customer / site specific requirements.
TRAINING COMPONENTS & ELEMENTS
Pre Requisites
Nominated course students should have:
- Solid knowledge of onsite operations and procedures.
- Good knowledge of onsite emergency procedures.
- Be proficient in the English language including reading and writing.
- Posses reasonable English language communication skills.
Certification
All Students that complete the course will receive a certificate of Completion.
