Industrial Emergency Response Team Leader Training

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed to address the particular needs of high hazard emergency response teams to protect assets, the environment and lives in the event of an on site industrial incident.

The course designed with a blend of theoretical and practical input will provide students with a range of knowledge, skills and techniques allowing them to effectively perform as part of an industrial, petrochemical, pharmaceutical emergency response team.

The training delivered specifically by petrochemical oil and gas instructors, focuses on the credible needs of on site emergency response teams based upon first hand experience gained during responding to and managing major industrial incidents.

Duration

The duration of the course can be tailored from one to five days, however can be customer specific fully dependant upon site operations and specified risks.

Target Group

This course is designed for personnel from diverse industry sectors including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical oil and gas, tank storage and nuclear.

Who Should Attend

Employees who have been nominated to be part of an on site Emergency Response Team.

Course Assessments

Students must pass both theoretical and continual practical assessments to complete the course against specific criteria which can incorporate customer / site specific requirements.

Practical Operation of self contained breathing apparatus.
Element 2.
Operation and application of fire extinguishers.
Element 3.
Operation of fire pumps, hose and ancillary equipment.
Element 4.
Foam and foam making equipment.
Element 5.
Materials spillage equipment and techniques.
Element 6.
Chemical protective equipment.
Element 7.
Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) equipment and response.
Element 8.
Rescue from confined spaces.
Element 9.
Rescue from height equipment and associated techniques.
Element 10.
Trauma intervention equipment and protocals.
Element 11.
Site specific policies and procedures

Pre Requisites

Nominated course students should:

  • Have completed an occupational medical examination including lung function and physical fitness assessment and deemed medically fit prior to attending the Breathing Apparatus Wearers course.
  • Attend training clean shaven as facial hair could prevent a good seal between the wearer’s facial contour and the breathing apparatus face mask seal.
  • Be proficient in the English language including reading, writing and numeracy.
  • Posses reasonable English language communication skills.
  • Be physically able to carry out the practical skills required to meet the assessment criteria.

Certification

All Students that complete the course will receive a certificate of Completion.
