Municipal Fire Officer Flammable Liquid Tactical Adviser Training

COURSE OVERVIEW

The purpose of this specialist course is to provide Municipal / Local Authority Fire Officers who are expected to respond to high hazard facilities including but not limited to, oil refineries, tank farms, petrochemical sites, distillery and process fires with the knowledge and the ability to competently attend such major incidents and provide credible on scene Tactical Adviser capability.

In order to support the Incident Command System, it is critical that Municipal / Local authority Tactical Advisers are competent to support Operations to ensure the correct levels of understanding with the appropriate tactics and approach taken to deal with such incidents.

The training carried out by Instructional Staff with over thirty years operational experience in dealing with and managing major industrial, petrochemical oil and gas emergencies.

The course, typically theoretically based with practical demonstrations and credible table top exercises, whereby course Students will have the ability and confidence to provide Tactical Adviser guidance during high hazard complex incidents.

This course is truly Independent with no emphasis on product sales.

Duration

Standard five day course, however can be customer specific fully dependant upon Municipal and Local Authority Fire & Rescue Service operations and specified risks.

Target Group

This course is designed for Fire Officers from Municipal / Local Authority Fire & Rescue Services who as part of the Ops Tactical Adviser role, respond to high hazard facilities including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical oil and gas, tank storage.

Who Should Attend

  • Municipal / Local Authority Fire & Rescue Service Officers.
  • Operational Fire Officers with a designed role of Petrochem Tactical Adviser.  
  • Newly Promoted Senior Fire Officers or Fire Officers who require specific training in this area of expertise   
  • Fire Officers involved in the deployment of high flow mobile firefighting equipment.
  • Fire Officers with the portfolio of foam concentrate management.

Course Assessments

Students must pass both theoretical and continual assessments to complete the course against specific criteria which can incorporate customer / site specific requirements.

Pre Requisites

Nominated course students should:

  • Have attended and completed a HAZMAT Tac adviser course.
  • Incident Command trained and qualified to Bronze / Silver.  
  • Be proficient in the English language including reading, writing and numeracy.

Certification

All Students that complete the course will receive a certificate of Completion.
